Byzantine music group Anton Pann The vocal group of Byzantine music Anton Pann came into existence in 2003, at the initiative of Constantin Raileanu, consisting of students of the National Music University of Bucharest and of the Faculty of Orthodox Theology in Bucharest.

The stated purpose of this group is to reconnect the young generation of psalm singers with the 19th century ecclesiastical musical tradition and to capitalize on the musical treasure of the Romanian archives.

"In addition to collaborations with the Old Music Chamber Ensemble Anton Pann, we plan to record religious and secular compositions conserved in manuscripts with a Medio-Byzantine neo-romantic notation to enrich the existing thesaurus available to the public at the moment", stated Constantin Raileanu, founder and coordinator of the Byzantine Music Voice Group, Anton Pann.

The group's activity took place in the ecclesiastical and scenic space, without missing the concert activities ran as part of various cultural events.

Since 2004, the group has participated along with the Old Music Ensemble Anton Pann in old music concerts.

In 2005, they participated as guests at the "Balkan Music" festival

In 2008, they participated as special guests in the first edition of the "Young people, praise the Lord!" Competition organized by the Patriarchate of the Romanian Orthodox Church.

Between 2008 and 2009 they were delegated by the Romanian Orthodox Patriarchate to the cathedral of St. Spiridon from Bucharest.

Together with the Anton Pann Ensemble, they participated at concerts abroad, in Italy and Spain, between 2010 and 2013.

In 2012, they participated as special guests at the carols concert in Vălenii de Munte.

Between 2009 and 2015, the choir acted within the Antim monastery in Bucharest.

In 2016, the group was reorganized into the current formula as part of the strategy to promote its own activity.

In 2017, they participated in the George Enescu International Festival, alongside En Chordais (Greece) and Constantinople (Iran / Canada), as well as artists such as Ling Ling Yiu (China / Italy) and Baasandorj Amartuvshin (Mongolia / Germany).

They are currently conducting research on vocal music in the psaltic manuscripts preserved in Romanian and foreign libraries that have a cultural connection with the Romanian musical tradition.
